About This Session
Efficiently managing construction work has long been a key challenge in large capital projects. Issues such as rework, schedule slippage, safety risks, material availability, and commissioning delays have continued to impact project outcomes.
In this session, Saber Belghith presented how KonnectXD’s approach offered a new perspective on managing construction planning and execution, with the goal of improving efficiency and reducing risk.
One of USPI’s 2025 objectives for the Facility Lifecycle 3D Modelling Standard (FL3DMS) is to enhance the Standard and Lifecycle Guide with data requirements for construction planning. This enhancement was based on CII AWP data models and included requirements for visualizing the path of construction.
With a learner mindset, USPI invited Saber Belghith from KonnectXD to share their approach to managing construction work and planning in large capital projects within the Oil & Gas industry.
USPI invited KonnectXD to share their expertise on:
✅ How their approach addresses common construction challenges.
✅ The impact of process change, data synchronization, and technology.
✅ A comparison with CII AWP data standards and how this methodology differs.
✅ Key data requirements for Owner Operators (OOs) and EPCs.
This interactive session included a 30-45 minute presentation/demo, followed by an open discussion and Q&A.
You can find the recording and presentation from Saber here.
We look forward to seeing at the next USPI Safari!
